What Civitas is

Civitas is a website at cmty.app for running a community in Second Life: a group, an estate, a venue or a roleplay community. You manage it from your browser, and Civitas's bots do the work in SL for you.

What it does

• Your SL groups. Invite, eject and ban people, give group roles and change the group's settings from the website. A Civitas bot makes each change in SL.
• Roles that reach everywhere. Give someone a role once, and it reaches their SL group role and their Discord role too, with the same name in all three.
• Moderation. Cases with evidence, warnings, mutes and bans that apply in your SL groups and on your Discord server, and appeals.
• Teams. Staff teams with ranks, rosters, who's on duty, hours and a shift calendar.
• Discord. Linked roles, bans, and your group chats passed to Discord channels.
• A public page at cmty.app with your community's name, and a record of every change in the audit log.

Who's who

• Members are everyone in your community's SL groups, whether or not they have a Civitas account. Members can see their own membership, roles and warnings.
• Managers are members with roles that give them permissions on the website, like managing groups or moderating.
• The owner created the community and holds every permission.

Everyone signs in with their Second Life avatar. Civitas never asks for your SL password.
