Create your account and sign in
Your Civitas account belongs to your SL avatar, so your first sign-in uses a one-time code sent to you in Second Life.
There's no form to complete and nothing to pay. You get a code in Second Life, type it on the website, and your account is created.
Get a code in Second Life
- Open the sign-in page and go to Create your account with a code.
- In Second Life, IM the Civitas bot the sign-in page names (IM the Civitas bot opens the IM in your viewer) and send it anything. It answers with a one-time code. You can also touch a Civitas Terminal; communities that use Civitas have one.
- Type the code in the Code box within 10 minutes and press Continue.
Your account is created and you're signed in. The avatar that got the code is your account's avatar.
Sign in next time
A code always works, whether you're new or not. To sign in without going in-world:
- A password. Choose one in Account settings, then sign in with your SL username and that password. It's your Civitas password, never your SL one.
- A passkey. Add one in Account settings, then press Use a passkey on the sign-in page. Your phone, computer or security key signs you in.
- Discord. Once you link your Discord account in Account settings, Sign in with Discord works too.
If you add an authenticator app, Civitas asks for its 6-digit code after your password.
Forgot your password?
Sign in with a code from Second Life, then choose a new password in Account settings.
