Restart a region and send region messages

Each region you've added on Estates has its own page. Click the region's name on Estates, or on its estate's page.

Who's here and how it's running

With a Region Monitor in the region, its page shows who's there now, with bots marked, and how the region is running: time dilation (1.00 is best) and frames per second. Restarts lists when the region started in the last 30 days, and how long it stayed up each time. The People column on Estates shows how many people are in each region. The Region Monitor looks at who's there every 30 seconds and tells Civitas when someone comes or goes, so what you see is at most about half a minute behind SL, as of when you opened the page (reload it to see the latest). Long lists on the page, such as who's here, restarts, the top lists and what the bot did, show ten rows at a time; use the page numbers under a list, or Rows per page, to see more.

Without a Region Monitor, the page says so, and shows only what the bot did there.

Its health over time

Health charts the region from its Region Monitor's reports: the most people there at once, its time dilation (100% is best) and its frames per second (45 is best). Choose Last 24 hours, Last 7 days or Last 30 days. Under the charts it says how often the region restarted in that time.

Top scripts and top colliders

To see what's slowing a region down, press Look now under Top scripts or Top colliders (you need permission to manage estates). The community's bot goes to the region and reads the list from SL's estate tools, as the Region/Estate window's Debug tab shows it, then leaves. The page lists the top 20 with each object's owner, its script time or collisions, and where it is. Click the place to see it on SL's map and teleport there.

Restart a region

1. Open the region's page and press Restart….
2. Confirm.

The community's bot asks SL to restart the region. SL warns everyone there, and a couple of minutes later sends them home and restarts it. The bot must be one of the estate's managers (see Add your estates and regions). When the region is back, its Region Monitor says so, and the restart shows under Restarts.

Restart it automatically

Under Automatic restarts on the region's page (you need permission to manage estates), set when the bot restarts the region by itself. Changes save as you make them. Times are SLT.

• When it's empty: turn on Restart it when it's empty. It restarts once nobody but bots has been there for Empty for at least (15 minutes unless you change it), and only if it's been up for Up for at least (72 hours). To keep it to quiet hours, choose Only from and Until. This needs a Region Monitor in the region, which says when it's empty. If someone arrives before the bot gets there, the bot leaves it and waits for the next chance, and What the bot did says Waited.
• On a schedule: choose a Day (or Every day) and a Time, and press Add. At each time the bot restarts it, whoever is there. Warn people there first sends a region message that many minutes before (10 unless you change it; 0 sends none), with your Warning or "This region restarts in 10 minutes." The page shows when the next one is.

If the bot can't restart it (it isn't an estate manager any more, say), everyone who can manage estates gets a notification saying why. Automatic restarts show as done by Civitas in the audit log.

Send a message

1. Open the region's page and press Send a message.
2. Write the message, in up to 500 characters.
3. To send it to every region of the estate, turn on Send it to all of the estate's regions.
4. Press Send.

SL shows it in a box to everyone there, from the community's bot. It counts once per person toward your community's daily limit (see Understand the daily message limit): as many as the Region Monitor says are there, or as many as the region lets in where no Region Monitor reports.
