Invite someone to an SL group
Have the bot send someone an invitation to one of your SL groups, in the role you choose.
You need permission to invite people to groups (groups.invite).
The bot sends the invitation in SL, and the person accepts it there. Once they join, they're a member of your community.
Invite one person
- Go to Members and press Invite.
- Type their SL username, like jane.resident. Use their username, never their display name, which can look like someone else's.
- Choose the SL group, and the Role they join in. Everyone is the group's basic role.
- Press Invite.
The bot sends the invitation in SL, and they show up in Members once they join. Someone who accepts an invitation from Civitas isn't listed under Changes in SL. Civitas won't invite someone who's already in the group.
Which roles you can choose
The list offers the roles the bot can give out. You can only invite someone into a role whose SL abilities you have in the group yourself, unless you own the community or the group. Civitas never gives out the Owners role.
If the role is linked to a Civitas role, the panel says so: they get that Civitas role too when they join.
Send your Discord invite too
If your community's Discord invite link is on its Public page, tick Also send them the Discord server's invite link by IM. The bot IMs them the link once the invitation has gone out.

Each invitation counts one message toward the bot's daily limit, and the Discord link one more. See Understand the daily message limit.
Other ways to invite
