Ban and allow people on an estate
Have the bot ban people from an estate, eject them or send them home, and keep the estate's allowed residents and groups.
You need permission to ban from estates (estates.ban) to ban, unban and eject, and to manage estate access (estates.access) for the allowed residents and groups.
The bot does these in SL as one of the estate's managers (see Add your estates and regions). For each, it teleports to one of the estate's regions, makes the change there and leaves. Each change shows The bot is on it until it's done, and the estate's page lists how it went under What the bot did. Every change goes in the audit log.
Ban someone
- Go to Estates, and press Open on the estate.
- Press Ban someone, and find them by name. For someone who was never a member, paste their avatar's UUID.
- Add a Reason if you like.
- To ban them from all your community's estates at once, turn on Also ban them from the community's other estates. To send back everything they own on the estate, turn on Return their objects on the estate.
- Press Ban.
SL adds them to the estate's ban list, which keeps them off every region of the estate and sends them out if they're there. Nobody can ban the community's owner or its bots.
To take someone off the ban list, press Unban on their row and confirm.
A ban on a moderation case can cover all your estates too, and lifting it takes them off the estates it banned them from: see Ban someone.
Eject someone or send them home
Press Eject someone, find them, and choose the region they're in. The bot sends them off the estate, or to their home location if you turn on Send them home instead of just off the estate. They can come back unless they're banned.
Allowed residents and groups
When the estate is closed to everyone but those on its lists, the Allowed residents and Allowed groups let people in.
- To add someone, press Allow someone, find them and press Allow.
- To add a group, press Allow a group and choose one of your community's groups, or paste another group's UUID.
- To take someone or a group off, press Remove on their row and confirm.
Ban from the estates by themselves
Lists of actions that run by themselves, like the warning rule on the Moderation page, a form's decisions or the tenancy actions on the Rentals page, can include Ban from the estates. It bans the person the list runs for from every estate the community has added, with the reason you write, just as a ban from a moderation case does. It needs the Ban from estates permission, held by whoever changed the list last, and it doesn't count toward the daily message limit.
If the bot couldn't
What the bot did says why. Usually the bot isn't an estate manager there (the estate's owner has to add it in SL), or SL's list is full.
