Make a team a department
In a roleplay community, give a team a department type, like law enforcement, fire and rescue or medical.
You need the permission to manage teams (teams.manage).
In a roleplay community, a team can be a department: a sheriff's office, a fire station, a hospital or city hall. A department is a team with a type, which gives it its own icon and label. It has ranks, a roster, duty and a schedule like any other team. See the guide to teams.
Create a department
- In your community, go to Teams and press Create team.
- Type its Name, like County Sheriff's Office.
- Choose its Department type.
- Add a Description (optional), and press Create team.
The department types are Law enforcement, Fire and rescue, Medical, Dispatch, Courts and legal, Corrections, Government, Public works, Transport, Education, News and media, Military, Business and Other. Not a department keeps it a plain team.
Change a team's type
- Open the team on the Teams page and press Edit team.
- Choose a different Department type. It saves at once.
The type shows on the team's card on the Teams page, with its icon, and at the top of the team's page.
Characters on the roster
In a roleplay community, everyone on a team's roster, department or not, can choose which of their characters they play there, in Playing as on the team's page. The roster then shows who they play. See Create your characters.
Department types are only used while your community is a roleplay community. If you turn the Roleplay suite off, teams keep their types, hidden, until you turn it on again.
