Issue and void citations

A citation is a record that an officer cited a character for something, like speeding or parking in a fire lane. It has one or more charges, and each charge can carry a fine. Citations is under Roleplay in a roleplay community's side navigation.

Issue a citation

You need citations.issue (a role that has it gives it to you).

1. Press Issue citation.
2. Choose the Character you're citing. They have to be a member of the community.
3. Add a Charge for each thing the citation is for, and the Fine for it. Leave the fine at 0 for a warning.
4. Choose Issue as if you want the citation to show which of your characters issued it.
5. Add the Place, the Vehicle and Notes if they help.
6. Set how many Days to pay. The default is 7.
7. Press Issue citation.

The character's name and yours are kept as they were when you issued it, so renaming a character later doesn't change what the citation says. Everything about it goes in the community's audit log.

What happens to the fine

A citation with a fine invoices the character for the total, to be paid to the community's treasury in its IC currency. The character is told, and pays the invoice from their account, all at once or in parts. See Economy for how invoices are paid, become overdue and are waived.

The citation's status follows its invoice: Unpaid, Paid, Overdue or Waived. A citation with no fine shows as Warning. If the community hasn't named an IC currency yet, only warnings can be issued.

See citations

Everyone sees the citations issued to their own characters under Your citations. Someone with citations.view also sees All citations. Type a character's name or a citation's number to find one, and choose Issued or Voided to filter. Press a number to open the citation.

Void a citation

Someone with citations.void can void a citation that shouldn't have been issued, like one for the wrong character.

1. Open the citation.
2. Type the reason in Void this citation.
3. Press Void citation and confirm.

A voided citation stays on record, marked as voided, with its reason. Its fine is waived, so the character no longer owes it. If part of the fine has already been paid, reverse the payment in Economy first, then void the citation.
