Review form submissions

Go through what people send in on your forms, take or give out submissions, keep notes, and accept or decline each one, which runs the form's actions.

You need permission to review submissions (forms.review), for forms whose reviewers include you. Giving a submission to someone else, and setting a form's actions, need permission to build forms (forms.manage).

When someone sends a form, its reviewers get a notification. Submissions wait for review on the Forms page.

Find submissions

Submissions on the Forms page lists what's waiting, newest first. Choose a Form, choose what to Show (Waiting (new and in review), one status, or All submissions), or check Only mine for the ones you're reviewing. Press Show older for more.

Each submission has a Reference, the same one its sender was given. Press it to open the submission.

Work on a submission

A submission's page shows who sent it (or Anonymous), when, the form's version they answered, their score if the form is scored, and their answers.

  • Assign to me makes you its reviewer and moves it to In review. If you can build forms, choose a reviewer from the list to give it to them. They get a notification.
  • Notes are for reviewers only. The person who sent it never sees them. Type in Add a note and press Add note.

Accept or decline

  1. Press Accept or Decline.
  2. Type a Reply (optional). They see it with the decision in their notifications and on the form's page.
  3. Check Also send it to them as an IM in SL to have your community's bot IM it too. It counts as one message.
  4. Press Accept or Decline to finish.

A decision can't be changed afterwards. The form's actions run, and the submission lists what each one did. An anonymous submission has no one to reply to.

  • Moderator reports: accepting one opens a Moderation case about the person reported, in your name, with the answers and pictures as evidence. It also needs permission to work on cases (moderation.manage).
  • Ban appeals are decided with Lift the ban or Keep the ban. See Appeal a ban, or decide an appeal.
  • Event sign-ups name the event and time they're for. Sending one said Going, so declining it takes that back and tells the person.
  • Tests that decide by score are accepted or declined as they're sent, and marked By score.

If the form takes one submission per avatar and you declined theirs, Let them send again lets that person send it once more.

Choose what happens after a decision

A form's When accepted and When declined tabs hold the actions that run when a reviewer decides. For example, accepting a membership application can give a role and invite the person to an SL group.

  1. Open the form and go to When accepted or When declined.
  2. Press Add an action and choose one, like Give a role, Invite to an SL group, Put on a team at a rank, Send them an IM, Send a group notice, Tell people on the website or Post in a Discord channel.
  3. Choose what it acts on, and write its message if it has one. Messages can use {name}, {username} and {community}.
  4. To run it only sometimes, press Only if and choose a condition, like an answer or the score.

The actions act on the avatar that sent the form. On an anonymous form, only actions that aren't about the sender can run. They run with the permissions of whoever changed them last, so you can only add what you could do yourself. What they send in SL counts toward a daily limit, which the community's owner can change.

Export the answers

On a form's page, Export CSV downloads every submission's answers and scores.
