Find events and say you're going
See what's on in your community, say whether you're going, and get reminders before it starts.
Every member can see the community's events and answer them, except events kept to teams they're not on.
The Events page shows what's on in your community. Times are in SLT.
Find an event
- Calendar: choose Day, Week or Month, move with the arrows, and press Today to come back. Each category has its own color, and cancelled events are struck through. Click an event to see its details, then press Open event for its page. An event with a place shows it on SL's map there, where you can press the pin for Teleport.
- Coming up: the events in the next 45 days as a list. Type in Find to look for a title or place, choose a Category, or check Only events I'm going to.
Say whether you're going
- Open the event.
- Under Who's going, press Going, Maybe or Can't go.
Your answer saves at once, and you can change it until the event starts. The panel shows how many are going, and who, unless the hosts keep that to themselves.
- A repeating event takes reservations for each time on its own. Open the time you mean from the calendar, or follow Answer for and the next time.
- An event with a sign-up form: pressing Going opens the form. You're going once you've sent it. If a reviewer declines it, you're told and you're no longer going.
- A full event: if it has a limit and it's full, saying Going puts you on the waiting list. When someone can't go, you move up and Civitas tells you.
- Answers close once the event starts or is cancelled.
On a public event's own page, Say you're going takes you to the event in Civitas, signing you in first if you need to. If the event is also on your community's Discord server, clicking Interested there counts as Going.
Reminders and changes
If the event sends reminders, you get them when you've said Going, and not while you're on the waiting list. The hosts choose when, and whether people who said Maybe get them too. You're also told if the event is cancelled, or its time or place changes. These come as notifications, so choose where they reach you in Choose how Civitas tells you things.
Add it to your own calendar
Press Add to calendar on the event's page to download it for your calendar app. Your community's public page also has a link that adds all its public events to your calendar.
