Complete a form
Complete a community's form, like an application, save it to finish later, and see what you sent and the community's answer.
Anyone the form is for. Most forms need you to sign in with your SL avatar, and anonymous forms don't.
Communities share their forms as links, on their public page, or by IM in SL. A form's address is the community's web address, then /f/ and the form's name.
Complete it
- Open the form's link.
- If it asks, press Sign in and sign in with your SL avatar. The community sees which avatar sent it. See Create your account and sign in.
- If your account has more than one avatar, choose which one to Send as.
- Answer the questions. Required ones are marked. Times are in SLT.
- Press Send.
If you came from an event's Going, the form names the event and time at the top, and sending it says you're going.
If an answer needs fixing, the form marks it. Pictures and drawn signatures have to be added again then.
The form may be in tabs or steps, or ask one question at a time. Some forms show all your answers before you send, so you can change any of them.
Finish it later
If the form has Save and finish later, press it to keep your answers. Come back to the same link within 30 days to finish and send it. On an anonymous form they're kept only in your browser. Pictures and drawn signatures aren't saved, so add them before you send.
After you send it
The form shows its message, your reference and, on a scored form, your score. Keep the reference if you want to mention it later.
Press See what you sent to open your submission. It shows its Status, your Reference, when you sent it, when they decided, Their reply if they wrote one, your score, and Your answers. You get a notification when they decide.
To find it again, open the community and go to Your membership, which lists the forms you've sent. See See your own membership.
Anonymous forms
An anonymous form says so at the top. You don't sign in, and Civitas keeps nothing about who sent it. Nobody can reply to you, so there's no page for what you sent. Keep the reference instead.
When you can't send it
- Closed forms say when they open, or that they're not taking submissions.
- Forms for certain people, like members or certain roles, say why each of your avatars can't send them.
- One per avatar: some forms take one submission from each avatar. If yours was declined, the community can let you send it again. A test may make you wait before you take it again.
If something is wrong with a form, use Report it to Civitas at the bottom of the form.
