Change your web address
Move your community's public page to a new address at cmty.app, with the old one sending visitors there for 90 days.
You need permission to manage the community (communities.manage).
Your community's web address is where its public page is, like cmty.app/harbor-point. You chose it when you created the community, and you can change it on the Public page page.
Change it
- Go to Public page.
- In Web address, type the new address after cmty.app/ and press Change.
- Check the new address in the message box and press Change address.
An address is up to 40 lowercase letters, digits and hyphens, and can't start or end with a hyphen. The website's own pages, like cmty.app/help, can't be community addresses, and Civitas keeps some others back too.
What happens to the old address
The old address sends visitors to the new one for 90 days, and no other community can take it until then. Web address lists your old addresses and the day each stops redirecting. You can move back to one of your old addresses while you still hold it.
Links you've shared elsewhere keep working for those 90 days, so update them in the meantime: your SL group profiles, Discord and anywhere else.
How often you can change it
A community can change its address 3 times in 30 days. After that, try again later.
