Change your community's settings
The Settings page turns on the Roleplay suite and can make managers sign in with a passkey or an authenticator app.
You need permission to manage the community (communities.manage). Only the owner can change how managers sign in.
Settings holds how your community works on Civitas. Each switch saves as soon as you flip it.
Make it a roleplay community
Turn on Use the Roleplay suite. Members then play in-character (IC) characters in your community, and see Characters in their navigation. Communities without the Roleplay suite never show characters. It's free until Civitas starts charging for modules.
Turn it off again and members' characters no longer show in your community. See Roleplay communities.
Make managers sign in safely
Turn on Require a passkey or an authenticator app for managing to make people who manage your community sign in with a passkey or an authenticator app, not only a password or a code.
Until someone does, they can see everything their roles let them see but change nothing. It applies to everyone but the owner. Each person adds a passkey or an app in Account settings; see Keep your account safe.
Only the owner can change this switch. Others with access to Settings see it, but can't flip it.
Go back to the setup guide
Press Setup guide at the top of Settings to go through the setup steps again: your SL groups, your bot, your Discord server and your roles.
Other settings
Some settings have their own page:
- Your public page and web address are on Public page. See Set up your public page.
- Your bots are on Bots, your Discord server on Discord, and chat sync on Chat.
