Delete a community

There's no delete button on the website. Deleting a community can't be undone, so Civitas staff do it for you: one staff member asks, and a second approves.

Ask Civitas to delete it

1. Press the ? at the top right, then Contact Civitas. Or open Support and press Get help.
2. In What do you need help with?, choose Something else, and in Which community (optional), choose the community.
3. Write a Subject and, in What do you need, say you want the community deleted.
4. Press Send.

What deleting it does

Once a second staff member approves it:

• The community closes to everyone at once, and anything waiting in its bots' queue is stopped.
• Its bots leave its SL groups, and the groups are free for another community to add. The groups themselves stay in Second Life, with their members.
• Civitas leaves its Discord server, chat sync stops, and its Civitas Relays are locked out.
• Everything the community holds on Civitas is deleted, its audit log included.

Your Civitas account and your avatars aren't deleted. To delete your account too, see Get a copy of your data, or delete your account.

Before you ask

• Press Export CSV on the Audit log page for a copy of its record of changes. See Read the audit log.
• If you only want to go quiet for a while, you don't need to delete anything: turn off Show the public page on Public page, or remove your Discord server on Discord.
