Get a copy of your data, or delete your account

Both requests are in Your data, at the bottom of Account settings. You can also press your picture at the top right and choose Your data. Civitas staff handle each request, and you can follow it there. The privacy policy says how.

Get a copy of your data

1. In Your data, press Ask for a copy of my data.
2. The request shows as Waiting for Civitas staff.
3. When it's ready, it shows as Ready, and you get a notification. Press Download to save it as a JSON file.

You can download it for 30 days. After that it shows as Expired, and you can ask for a new copy.

Delete your account

1. In Your data, press Delete my account….
2. Read what deleting removes and what it keeps. If there's anything Civitas staff should know, write it in Anything we should know (optional).
3. Press Ask to delete my account.

Deleting your account removes how you sign in (your password, passkeys and Discord link, and all your sessions), your links to your avatars, your uploaded picture and your characters. When Civitas staff delete it, you're signed out.

It doesn't remove:

• your avatars' names, since they're public in Second Life,
• the records communities keep about your avatars, like their member lists and audit logs. Civitas staff pass your request on to the owners of the communities you belong to.

A deletion can't be undone, but you can make a new account later.

Cancel a request

While a request shows Waiting for Civitas staff, press Cancel beside it.
