Choose how Civitas tells you things

When a community or Civitas tells you something, like a warning, a role you were given or a reply from Civitas staff, it always shows on the website under the bell. You choose which kinds also reach you in Second Life and on Discord.

Read your notifications

The bell is at the top right of every page, with the number you haven't read yet.

1. Press the bell. Your notifications are listed newest first, each saying who it's from and when.
2. Press one to go to what it's about. It's marked read.
3. Press Mark all read to clear the count, or Show older for earlier ones.

The count updates every minute while a page is open. Notifications are kept for 180 days. There's no separate notifications page: the bell is the only place they're listed.

Choose where they reach you

1. Go to Account settings and find Notifications. The Notifications settings link at the bottom of the bell's list goes there too.
2. For each kind of notification, turn In SL or On Discord on or off.

Each switch saves as you click it. The kinds are in three groups:

• About you: moderation, replies from Civitas support, your data requests, events you're going to, payments, forms you sent and rent reminders.
• Assigned to you: roles, teams, shifts, cases and form submissions someone gives you.
• Communities you manage: role changes to review, new appeals, new form submissions, messages from automations, automation problems, scheduled notices, region restarts and tenants over their prims.

In SL sends an IM from a bot to your main avatar. On Discord sends a direct message from Civitas's app. It only works once you've linked your Discord account, and only while you're in a Discord server that has Civitas's app, with direct messages from its members allowed.
