Add another avatar to your account

One Civitas account can hold several of your avatars. Each avatar you link can sign in to it, and your communities, notifications and settings stay in one place.

Link an avatar

1. Log in to Second Life with the avatar you want to add.
2. Get a code with it: IM a Civitas bot anything, or touch a Civitas Terminal. The bot answers with a one-time code.
3. On the website, signed in as usual, go to Account settings.
4. In Avatars, type the code in the Code box within 10 minutes and press Link avatar.

The avatar appears in the list as an Alt. If it's already linked to a different Civitas account, Civitas says so and doesn't link it.

Your main avatar

Your main avatar is the first one you linked, marked Main. It's the one:

• whose name and Second Life profile picture your account shows,
• that gets your notifications in SL, as IMs from a bot.

Signing in with an alt

Once it's linked, an alt signs in to the same account:

• with a code it gets in Second Life,
• or with its own SL username and your Civitas password, if you've set one.

Your other avatars are listed under Also signs in to this account when you press your picture at the top right.
